So Smart Apps LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the VoltSentry battery monitoring system, including hardware modules, cloud backend, mobile and web applications, and the website at voltsentry.app. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
When you use VoltSentry, we may collect the following types of information:
- Account information: Name, email address, phone number(s) provided for SMS alerts
- Equipment data: Battery voltage readings, GPS coordinates of monitored equipment, device identifiers, temperature readings
- Usage data: App interactions, feature usage, and access logs
- Communications: Emails or messages you send to us
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Deliver battery monitoring and alert services
- Send SMS notifications to your configured contacts when alerts are triggered
- Display equipment status, voltage readings, and GPS locations in the app
- Improve and maintain our services
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Firebase Firestore, a Google Cloud service with enterprise-grade security. Cellular transmissions are encrypted. We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure.
SMS Communications
VoltSentry sends SMS alerts through Twilio to phone numbers you configure in the app. We only send messages related to battery status, equipment alerts, and system notifications. You can add or remove phone numbers at any time through the app. Standard messaging rates from your carrier may apply.
GPS and Location Data
VoltSentry modules include GPS hardware for equipment tracking and theft recovery. GPS coordinates are transmitted with voltage readings and stored in our database. This data is only accessible to authorized users within your organization and is used to display equipment locations and support theft recovery.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate VoltSentry:
- Blues Wireless (Notehub): Cellular data routing from hardware modules
- Google Firebase: Data storage and backend infrastructure
- Twilio: SMS alert delivery
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their handling of data.
Data Retention
We retain voltage readings and alert history for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
VoltSentry is not intended for use by individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
